Painted silhouettes

So I have this awesome musician friend Benny who lives on the other side of the world—about an hour outside of London to be exact. He moved into a new house recently and I started seeing all these cool paintings pop up on his Facebook page.

He created this cityscape silhouette in his bedroom, and I just had to ask him about it...

Benny said his method is simple: He gets an idea, Googles an image and sets up a projector to cast the image onto the wall. Then, he traces around the projection with a pencil and painstakingly paints the silhouettes in black. Lots of masking tape is involved, of course!

“I just see an empty wall and give it something unique,” Benny says. What a great motto! (and a cool idea for anyone moving into a new place with drab, white walls.)

This tribute to his California friends above a window took him all day…

...and my favorite one, coined Travel Lady.

His recent plans include creating a little cat silhouette somewhere.
Thanks for sharing, Benny!
